Request Magazine, which profiled Minneapolis singer/songwriter Susan in its "Great Unknowns" section, calls her "the strong contender to succeed Liz Phair and Alanis Morissette," and describes her music as "pretty melodies with gouging power chords resulting in melodic tunes you can't dislodge from your head." The Minneapolis Star Tribune commented on her "poetic flair" and "keen sense of pop rhythm that lets her songs cascade or slowly burn." 'Down Comes the Night' is the second release from Minnesota bred Susan Sandberg, who divides her time between the Minneapolis and Los Angeles. Producers Sandberg and Jesse Valenzuela, (ex-Gin Blossoms) co-wrote 'Money or Your Life' and 'One Wrong Girl", with the Gin Blossoms reuniting for the recording of the latter.

Her debut album, Stripping For Jesus, included the song 'Hey Batter', which was featured in There's Something About Mary, and the Levis' back to school compilation (50,000 pressings). Another track, Girl with all the Goodbyes, is featured in Dawson's Creek and the indie film Late Last Night.

Kicked out of Catholic school for behavior unbecoming to a nice Catholic Girl (her plea "But I'm Lutheran" didn't help re-instate the young subversive.). She kept the uniform.
