Story Of Your Bones is receiving tremendous support; independently selling over
4,000 albums in the first six months and receiving radio play on both
college and commercial radio stations in New York City, Cleveland, Memphis,
Atlanta, and throughout Georgia and The Carolinas. Among her many other
accomplishments, Jennifer was awarded a slot on the 1999 Lilith Fair Tour
and played to sold-out crowds at 99x (WNNX-ATL) Big Day Out 2000, 96.1
(WEND-Charlotte) Weenie Roast 2000, and Music Midtown 1999. Recently awarded
the Grand Prize in Mars Music's "Big Deal Contest," Jennifer
also received the Independent Musician of the Year 2000 award (Musician's
Atlas 2000).She has been featured in articles in Jezebel Magazine, Atlanta
City Mag, The Album Network, Southeastern Performer, and Performing Songwriter.
Jennifer plays to packed houses along the East Coast from Florida to New
York City in select venues such as The Variety Playhouse (Atlanta), The
40 Watt (Athens), and The Mercury Lounge (New York City).
Reared on a diet of rock, blues, folk and soul, Jennifer began singing at the
age of seven. Her professional career started in 1996 with her arrival
on the Atlanta acoustic scene with the now defunct Soul Miners Daughter.
Jennifer's music was the driving force in successfully selling an astonishing
20,000 CD's of that band's two independent releases. Her continued market
success is supported and promoted by outstanding high-energy live performances
that have garnered her both national and regional success.
Jennifer's new album, Story Of Your Bone, is an exploration in diametric extremes.
Musically, there are moments of both haunting sparseness and rich fullness.
Thematically, Story explores a vast emotional spectrum, ranging from bitter
anguish all the way to fun, in-your-face naughtiness.
Story Of Your Bones promises to satisfy and surprise Jennifer's large established
fan base and capture new audiences. By combining honest songwriting and
soul-turning lyrics with a voice that ranges from the power of a freight
train to the subtlety of a southern lilt, Jennifer Nettles Band guarantees
not only to engage their listeners, but also to enchant them.
